Vioxx Might Have Contributed to 27,785 Heart Attacks and Deaths

The FDA also stated that the makers of Vioxx misled the public regarding the risk of Vioxx. Another recent study shows that Vioxx should have been pulled off the market much earlier and that even small doses for a short time can cause increased risk of heart attack or stroke. The Senate Finance Committee starts public hearings in the next couple of weeks regarding what Merck knew and when it knew it. As new facts are discovered, we will update you.
